What is Fables & Flames?
Fables & Flames is an immersive Romantasy Gala and convention celebrating fantasy, romance, and all the magic in between. It’s a multi-day experience full of authors, panels, photo ops, dancing, live entertainment, themed vendors, and more.
When and where is the event?
November 21–23, 2025 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Minneapolis Airport in Bloomington, MN — just minutes from the Mall of America.
Is this your first event?
Not at all! Fables & Flames is led by Rachel Silberman, who has almost 5 years experience and coordinated events for over 2,000 attendees as part of her day job. She is also the creator of Inbound’s Book Fair for Grown-Ups, a literary event hosted at Inbound BrewCo that has become a beloved local staple. While Fables & Flames is a new venture, it’s backed by years of experience in executing successful, engaging book events.
Who can attend?
Anyone aged 18+ who loves fantasy, romance, or Romantasy books is welcome! Whether you’re a reader, writer, cosplayer, or dreamer, this event is for you.
Is this event wheelchair accessible?

Are there special accommodations for people with disabilities?

AUTHOR QUESTIONS
How are authors selected?
Authors are invited based on genre alignment, availability, reader engagement, and social presence. We strive for a diverse lineup that includes indie, traditionally published, LGBTQIA+, and BIPOC authors.
Can confirmed authors bring our own books to sell?
Yes — authors may bring their own books unless otherwise arranged with our bookstore partner, Avant Garden Bookstore. Please coordinate with our team in advance.
EXHIBITOR QUESTIONS
What are the vending hours?
- Friday: 12PM – 5PM
- Saturday: 10AM – 6PM
- Sunday: 10AM – 1PM
What kind of vendors are accepted?
We curate a mix of bookish, fantasy, and romantic-themed vendors — think candles, jewelry, art, clothing, and more.

Is there a Sunday Brunch?
Yes! Sunday includes an optional all-American breakfast. You must purchase a separate ticket to attend.
Can I bring a cart to hold all my books?
Tall carts are fine. Long carts are not permitted due to space restrictions.

Who is the official bookseller?
Avant Garden Bookstore is our official book partner.
What about pre-orders?
Visit the “Author Pre-Orders” link on our website. Authors listed on that page will NOT be bringing their own stock and will have limited books available — please pre-order if you’d like your book signed.
The “Indie Pre-Order” page has all our Indie author pre-orders. They will bring stock, however please pre-order the books if you wish to have a book signed by them.
