Leah Bliss

Leah Bliss grew up in the north suburbs of Minneapolis with one dream: to be a romance writer. When she turned 18 she decided Minnesota was too small for her so she packed her bags and got on the first flight to Alaska with zero plan. Her phone was turned off when she got there, her bank card didn’t work, and her luggage was lost. She figured it out though, and started school at the University of Alaska Fairbanks shortly thereafter. After two years studying English Literature and Linguistics, she decided she didn’t know what she wanted, so she dropped out and got a job working at the nearby Air Force Base, where she met the love of her life. They got married after two short months and together they traveled all over North America, courtesy of the US Air Force.

After Eight years of traveling everywhere, her husband was released from his military obligations and they decided they wanted to settle down and have a family, so they moved back to Minnesota. After five years of unsuccessfully trying for kids, they decided to do foster care and adopted their now daughter, and a couple years after that became grandparents to the sweetest little dude ever. Leah did eventually go back to school and got a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Human services and later got a master’s in Terrorism studies.

She uses her experience of travel and her education to weave fantastical stories that are gritty with villains that would be seen in the real world and are bone-chilling and relatable. Her debut novel, The Fox and the Flower, is a dark romantasy novel she started writing while living in Louisiana and it took her over ten years to complete and query. She decided to get it published because she wanted to show the world the world she created. She still wants to be a full time writer, and she’s currently working on several other stories she’s hoping to publish in the next couple of years.
