SM Hyun is a Korean-Japanese American author who currently lives in the great frozen north of Alaska, though she spent a great deal of time in the Pacific Northwest. She grew up on fairy-tales handed down from her Japanese grandparents and folk songs from her Korean mother.

Her favorite genres are epic and urban fantasy and she loves the growing representation of diversity in literature. A few years ago, she decided why not? And gave writing diverse urban fantasy a try herself.

When she’s not writing, SM Hyun is devouring books, baking, or spending time with her husband and human-size dog and cat.
